AWS Marketplace

AWS Marketplace is the catalog where AWS customers buy third-party software and services and pay for them on their AWS bill. BuiltForProd is not an AWS service that the platform deploys; it is one of the two ways to purchase the Baseline and the Blueprints. The other is a direct invoice.

What it does

A seller lists products in Marketplace. A buyer subscribes from the AWS account that should pay, and the charge appears on that account's AWS invoice alongside compute and storage. For negotiated deals a seller issues a private offer: a price and terms extended to one specific AWS account, which the buyer reviews and accepts in the Marketplace console.

How BuiltForProd uses it

The offerings note describes the Marketplace path in five steps:

  1. Sign in to the AWS account you want to pay from.
  2. Request a private offer from BuiltForProd for the product you want, the Baseline or a Blueprint tier.
  3. BuiltForProd validates the request and shares the private offer.
  4. Review and accept the private offer in AWS Marketplace.
  5. BuiltForProd reaches out to start onboarding and delivery.

Nothing changes in what you receive. Delivery is the same as a direct purchase: BuiltForProd's engineers customize the repositories, deploy them into your accounts and hand over the code and the documentation described on the Baseline and Blueprints pages.

The reasons a customer might prefer Marketplace, as the note lists them:

  • Pay with your AWS account and receive one consolidated AWS bill.
  • Apply existing AWS discounts to the purchase.
  • Count the spend toward AWS commitments.

The management account is usually not the right account to pay from; billing attaches to whichever account accepts the offer, so choose that account deliberately. Terms, licensing and the direct-purchase path are on the purchasing and licensing page.
